Another fine bourbon from the Buffalo Trace distillery. It's relatively young at 7 years in the oak, but a fine sip nonetheless. And at $15 a bottle at Rouse's, it's a bargain if you like sippin' the stuff.
I poured it over one cube of very clean ice. It's a good mellow whiskey, perfect starter for the afternoon before the more smokey oakey bourbon is poured.
Buffalo Trace is an absolute must visit for anyone doing the Bourbon Trail. It's where Pappy and Rip Van Winkle are made as well as Weller and their namesake Buffalo Trace.

Amen! Glad to see another Bourbon drinker on the forum. I'm a big fan of the Weller line of bourbons, as they just seem to be smoother and better-tasting than the other brands within the same price range.
Pre-K, we did a vertical tasting of all the Wellers that Dickie Brennan's had in stock, starting with the Special Reserve, and ending with a 15-year-old. Holy crap! That 15-year-old was more like a fine Cognac than a bourbon, with lots of caramel and vanilla. Unfortunately, they haven't had it in stock the last few times we've been in. If you get a chance to try it, I highly recommend that you do, even if you don't like bourbon.
At my last visit to the Bourbon House I found that the 10yo Rip Van Winkle was an exceptional value when ordered on the rock (and yes I meant that as singular).
I really wish we could get Four Roses here. But as of now they don't ship outside of Kentucky.

20yr old Pappy is better than the 23yr old IMO. I was wondering if anyone had seen it in a liquor store. Martin hasn't had it since before Christmas. Sometimes Gautreau's has the 20yr old.
Good to know about the Bourbon House, though. We go with family about twice a year.
