I have been. He told me he was thinking of closing on Mondays (this was a few weeks ago,and I am assuming he has decided to do just that). I had met Ceasar at a coffee shop one day and told him I would go by his placve. I did so on a Monday before Thanksgiving. I went in and spoke to him and took a lasagna and pasta e fagiola (spelling?) white bean soup. They also gave me an incredible piece of bread. I ate the lasagna and soup at the office and took the bread home. I toasted the bread in the oven and had it with some good butter tht night. It was fabulous. The soup and lasagna were pretty good, too. the lasagna was quite a bit drier than I am use to, but it was light and good. The menu is somewhat limited. A couple dining there when I went were bragging ont he place. She had just had a pasta dish with pancetta and what looked like a tomato cream sauce.
He had a turkey and salami sandwich (if I remember correctly).

It is worth a try, especially for the artisan breads he bakes. He is from northern Italy and is a nice guy.

we love to eat at Ceasar's...he makes all his own bread and pasta...it's just he and his wife so don't go if you're in a hurry.....he's converses with everyone and treats them like a guest in his home....it's a relaxing experience with wonderful food...one of our favorites

khanks, sounds like you might be a regular. If you would be so kind to tell us the hours of operation, that would be super. Would make it easier for those of us on the Southshore. I know I could call, but the reality is I won't.
But I will remember the hours they are open (which I realize could change).

Eating fresh baked bread (and sandwiches on that fresh bread!) & pasta from a guy from N. Italy who likes to talk sounds great to me!

Isabella, he's open for lunch, closes from 3 to 5 and reopens from 5 to 8 or until he runs out of bread or pasta....tuesday through saturday. he does a couple of pannini's that are great, one with turkey and another with mortadella salami. I recommend you get there during the week around six...it'll take about 1 1/2 hours but you'll enjoy the experience

Thanks khanks, good to know he's closed from 3 to 5p, that's likely when I would be available. I'll check it out next time I'm working on the northshore, likely for early lunch tho.

Sorry guys/gals, but I'll have to respectfully disagree with you all. Not that the food isn't good, it was, but we had some real problems on our second visit. Our first visit was just as you've described - charming and fresh and delicious. And the second trip started much the same - Cesar greeted us, told us it'd be a little bit of a wait today (that's his thing - fresh food takes time! - and we have no problem with that), and he even gave us a free glass of wine. I think he remembered us from our first visit, which was only a week earlier. Anyway, we got the bruschetta appetizier, and I got the lasagna and my wife ordered the chicken parmesan (which I believe was a special that night). Well, when we finally got our food an hour and a half later, my wife noticed (after a few bites!) that her chicken was not thoroughly cooked - it was still pink. So we politely and quietly mentioned to Cesar that we'd like it cooked a little more, and he acted as though we had slapped him in the face! He cursed under his breath and told us that it was cooked "perfectly, and if we wanted over-cooked chicken we should go some place else." Well, we left after that and will not be back. It's a shame, though, because I did love his bread.

Ceasar sounds like a character.

I'll make sure not to order chicken!
