Taste Of The Town?
Taste Of The Town?
This event doesn't seem to get much notice at all on the local boards. I think I went to one many years ago. Only after hearing on the radio yesterday that weather may force a change of venue from Lafreniere Park to the EJGH parking garage did I realize it might be the same thing I had attended under similar inclement conditions. Anyway, I was wondering what the deal was. Not worth the money? Ho-hum offerings? Been there, done that? It appears to support good causes.

It's pretty fun, but it can get crowded in that garage. I don't know if it's worth the money, because I've never paid for it. How much are tickets?Admin wrote:This event doesn't seem to get much notice at all on the local boards. I think I went to one many years ago. $90 in advance, I think. Don't know how much back when. Same thing, free ticket.
(Kind of scary, having the same thought as Bob, and posting it at the same time.

Yeah....thanks. The feeling is mutual.
It's like a giant Tapas Bar. You get bang for your buck. Probably more than you would at some restaurants for the same price as the ticket.
Great food and spirits, live music, beautiful people.
Good times.

It seems they really did not do much promotion for this event. I had forgotton about it until Tom mentioned it on his show yesterday. I would probably do it out at the park with nice weather, but it ain't worth it to walk around in a parking garage.

I've been in the past and had a great time. But I can only eat so much...so there was a lot I didnt get to try that looked excellent. I did manage to suck down a lot of drinks though. Priorities I guess.
As Bob said: good food, good drinks and beautiful people. At least the times I've been

It didn't occur to me until yesterday that it hadn't been talked up on the food boards as of late, hence my post yesterday. I knew it was going on since I'm in the trade.
It iwas a good event, despite being in the garage. Yes it was raining, so you can't fault the decision to move it to EJGH. The attendance was down from last year for sure, but I don't know by how much. Since the temperature were cooler, it was not so miserable as last year.
I'm sure people's memory of last years' "sardine can" atmosphere as well as the all day rain Friday dampened peoples spirit in attending last night, but it was great to be able to walk around freely and not wait in line for food. People were having a good time enjoying the music and food. I really want to see this thing in the park again. Good times.

Sounds like Zoo To Do but a lot cheaper...
and without the animals. Well, since it has been moved to the parking garage the last two years I am sure there were at least a couple of jaguars around.
