Jacques-Imo's, Cafe Degas, Vincent's or Ciro's Cote Sud
We are going out to celebrate a special b'day with the teenagers. We want a place that is fun, won't break the budget as my kids have expensive tastes and it must have good food.
We have narrowed the selection to the above 4 restaurants and are trying to select one. Anyone have some strong preferences or recommendations?

Not jacque-imo's.

Well I don't consider Degas or Vincents to be fun. Jackqimos can def. be a good time if you aren't looking for high end food and can drink enough to deal with the madness that is going on in that place.
If you end up going for Jacquimos, I think if your party is at least 6 people, you can get a restervation. If you have no reservations, you better get their by 5:30 or expect between 1 and 2 hours of wait time.

I certainly wouldn't go to Jacque-Imo's either. Just not good.
Vincents won't be a "fun" place, but the food is definitely good. I've been to Cafe Degas with a group of noisy folks doing some drinking, and had a great time. We weren't looked at funny, but we were the only group like that.
I haven't been to Ciro's, so can't help there. Have fun!

I agree with all of this, except that Vincent's can potentially have the same "fun" element with the right group. That said, I would also vote Degas, as I haven't been to Ciro's.Jesse wrote:I certainly wouldn't go to Jacque-Imo's either. Just not good.

I love the food and atmosphere at Jacques-Imo...and apparently so do a ton of people...which is why you have a wait with no reservations.
You can make a reservation with a party of 5 or more.

Can't argue there, they are always slammed. It just never did it for me.

We went to Jacques-Imo's once with best friends. They love the place.
When we left, Dom and I said, "Never again.... what a bunch of hype".
On a Saturday night, they'd run out of Miller Lite, as well as (?) if my memory serves me correctly, Bloody Mary Mix.
(On the other hand, the other couple continue to go there.... go figure!
)
Loved their cornbread. Other than that...... YUCKERS!

Ciro's is not the venue for your purposes. I, personally, am quite fond of the place. But, physically, it's much too small and narrow for a bunch of teens. I think they'd require a good bit of elbow room. The other dining patrons would no doubt agree.

go to Mandina's or Ye Olde College Inn or Jamila's.
After Mon & Tues, even the calendar says W-T-F!
