We were seated at a lovely booth. There were maybe 3-5 other tables with diners. My DC may have ruined it for me when he said, "wow this is a very limited menu". I truly didn't notice that the one and only other time I had been there but it is indeed limited. No beef, no shrimp...strange. A table of 8 was seated near us, they got menus and water and within 5 minutes they got up to leave. We asked the waiter about it and he said "our menu is not for everyone".
I had the bbq lobster app which was fantastic. My DC had the terrine or pate? app. It was okay.
I was talked into ordering the chicken which I would NEVER order in a restaurant but it was surprisingly delicious. I would have loved a plate of whatever was under the chicken... I'm not sure what all was there but it was delicious. I think it had gnocchi and maybe cabbage.

I had the chocolate peanut butter mousse thingy and that was 2nd only to the lobster as the best thing on the table. DC had the rice pudding...blech. Maybe it was good as rice pudding goes, but no thanks.
Sorry to say I was completely underwhelmed and won't be rushing back anytime soon.
Delmonico last night:
Started w/ hand stuffed anchovy olives for my vodka...great start!
I had the chop salad which I loved. One DC had the lamb meatballs which I tasted...very good. One DC had the fried oyster app which he raved about and devoured.(he's from California) The other had a green salad.
I ordered the 6oz filet which was way too small for me. Other entrees were the $44 NY strip-? , a rib eye and salmon. I devoured my tiny steak and waited for scraps from others. ....The strip was very tasty but a total miss... it looked like a Omaha steak or some other frozen piece of meat.-I'm sure it wasn't but it just didn't even look good. I didn't get to taste the others. We also had spinach and blue cheese potatoes. Both okay. Dessert was bananas foster and I really enjoyed that.
Again, I was underwhelmed.
Maybe I eat out too much but both of these were borderline disappointing. And it doesn't help that my plans to be at LaBoca tomorrow night fell thru thanks to my DC being on the friggin Vazquez/Welles jury.
