White Blend from Languedoc

Post by Low-N-Slow »

Someone brought to last night's casual dinner a 2007 Saint Martin de la Garrigue Coteaux du Languedoc Blanc. It's a blend of about 5 Languedoc/Rhone white varietals. Melon and light citrus on the nose, with more body on the palate than the nose suggests, and a nicely balanced acidity. Would be a good sub for Sauvignon Blanc with seafood, for Riesling with Asian, or even for Chardonnay for the less-adventurous white drinker. If I heard correctly, a steal at around $11 at Martin.

I am not a white wine drinker, but any discussion here on wines I am a happy camper. Thank you for your contribution.
