Did not want to hijack the Mark Twain thread, so started a new one.

I have been on a hunt for the best pizza around. I went to Brooklyn, thought it was okay, went to Mark Twain, thought it was okay and a few others around town.

I tried the new one That's Amore on Clearview, while I think they are good, you can get thin or thick crust, I hate eating off paper plates with plastic forks and knives and cheap ass napkins that you have to use 50 of them to get the job done. We ordered for delivery to get away from that, but you know how that goes, pizza arrives at your house luke warm.

I found my all time favorite pizza place right now. Place looks like a dump, and the name sounds like a chain, which it is not. Papa Pizza on Williams. On the left side as you drive from W. Esplanade on Williams toward the Treasure Chest. Family Run. You can get thin or thick. Pizza is made to order and comes out perfect every time. Ingredients always taste very fresh. He also does a buffet during the week, but we always order off the menu.

Nino's on Carrolton is the only pizza I know of that would sell in NYC. Nino is uno authentico Italiano. By the slice or the take out by the whole pie. Same as you get in NYC. Thin crust basic toppings only--do not make the same mistake a young lady did the other night by inquiring about Ham and Pineapple toppings--she got blasted. (ha) They have plain, pepperoni, sausage, and I think they might have mushrooms and onions--basics.

Paper plates, though. But if you dine-in, you can get a Nino Cup which is like a 16 oz. styrofoam, filled to overflowing with cheap red. Don't bother asking about the different wines, they're aren't any, just ask for wine.

Cheapest eats in town. Ciao.

Venezia's II on Central off Jeff Hwy surprised me. I was blindly ordering over the phone w/no menu in hand, but came away w/a great pizza.
After Mon & Tues, even the calendar says W-T-F!

Top ratings from our intermitten and currently stalled Pizza Tour was Warehouse Pizza. Tower of Pizza in Metairie is also good. My personal fave is Slice although they have been inconsistent from the start. SLices seem to be better than pies there.

What do y'all get at Brooklyn Pizza?
I have to go out that way today & finally am going to try it.

I'll try Papa's next time. Actually, I'm pRetty sure we
have a Papa's on the WB.

Yvette, I like my pizza crispy & usually only eat one or two
Pieces anyway, so there are leftovers, which I actually like better.
Heat them to crispy on a preheat hot pizza stone makes just how
I like it! Try it with your lukewarm, soggy delivered pizza!

What about Slice on St Charles? I've heard great things about it, but have never been. (Although I only eat pizza once or twice a year)....

The young guy always knows we want it cripsy, thin crust. Very nice family.

I don't know what alcohol they serve, as we have only been there for lunch.

I've never been overly fond of pizzas, but does anyone remember Pizza Shack on Sena? oooooo now THAT was delicious!

Speaking of, what's the zippy spice that makes pizza sauce, pizza sauce and not tomato gravy? (am making some homemade sauce as we speak).
