That is what I would expect from them. I was surprised that it took them that long to respond though. The last time we ate they had a lot of new people being trained and we had more servers than necessary and they asked beforehand if me minded having them serve us. We said of course not the more the merrier. We got comped dessert and the service was not bad, a little slower than we expect/get there, but still good. I thought it was a good idea to ask instead of just sending newbies cold turkey.

Mindymoo, I'm floored. Very pleasantly floored.... but floored. LOL... honestly, I never expected that you'd get a response, much less a comp. But it was the right thing to do, and I'm glad the manager stepped up to the plate.

I've had too many negative experiences such as you described to ever bother going back, but I have a feeling you will be treated like royalty... enjoy! :)

And now you can go back instead of feeling ripped off.
Which is never a good feeling.

Some folks don't want to say anything to management for whatever reason, but in the long run both get ripped off if we don't.

I guess I just don't like leaving messy situations messy.

Good for you MindyMoo for making the effort to clean up your experience!

Okay, now that over 3 months have gone by without a reply (slipped my mind until I found the receipt while cleaning this weekend), I thought I'd post an update.

I sent the letter to the restaurant in question - Cuvee - and did not receive a response. SIGH. This really disappoints me.

I detailed all of the issues that we had and basically said what I said in my original post -- I am not expecting compensation but wanted to let them know of my disappointing experience, especially since I had previously had exceptional meals. I even wrote that I hesistated to send the letter, but thought that they deserved to be informed.

I did not send it registered/certified -- perhaps I should have done that to ensure they received it (I missed that on the original suggestions) -- but since it only had to go about 10 blocks, I would hope it wouldn't have gotten lost (though it's hard to say in NOLA...)
