Venezia's II

Post by JudiB »

We're having a lazy, laid back day. My husband picked up a small (the small was enough for two huge bowls for us) Italian salad and one order of meatballs.... and we split it. It's a LOT of food. I had some cooked angel hair in the fridge, and it came with lots of french bread. The meatballs were delicious and their red gravy is wonderful. We're stuffed. All for about $10.

Ok, is this the one on Central Avenue? We live really close to this place. Everyone in our neighborhood keeps talking about how good it is. Doug and I must have hit it on an off night. We'll have to try it again. I had shrimp scampi and actually sent it back. The owner came out and apologized all over the place...she tasted it and agreed..it was not fixed correctly. She said she would have to show the guy that cooked..how to fix it. LOL

That's the one, kc. The Italian salad is really really good. Also the trout almandine. Their pizzas are good too. When this lady bought the name, she also bought the recipes, and sticks to them.

Scampi is not something I would get at a typical New Orleans neighborhood Italian joint.
Stick to the red sauce items, pizza, etc.

Go to Andrea's or de Piero for something like scampi.
