Went to Shula's Steakhouse Wednesday night with a group. We got the porterhouse for two. The table, 12 of us, all ordered different things. Many sides to pass around.
This is a forgotten gem, I guess people don't get the hype around it or the chain like reputation. I like it better than Morton's or S&W, which is no longer here.
First class, friendly service. Better than Morton's but not as high on my totem pole as Ruth's Chris, IMHO.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals.

I've had multiple good meals there. The wine list is good, and the service has always put up with our shenanigans.

Re: Shula's Steakhouse
I ate there once. It was fine, but I don't think it merits a repeat visit. Especially not when there are so many more interesting places to try in the city.
Just as a for instance, I still have to take Tulane Rebel up on his recommendation of the $9.99 sirloin special at the Outback in Harvey.

I hope for your sake that they are still running the special. Only the breakfast ribeye at the IHOP in Slidell is a better deal.
Re: Shula's Steakhouse
I was impressed with both the quality of the food as well as the ambiance, but thought it was exceedingly overpriced.
As steak chains go, my personal favorite is Capital Grille. (yes, I know it doesn't have a branch in NOLA, but I'm just sayin' ...)
