Re: How hilarious is the Henry Louis Gates Arrest?

Brit Hume. Glen Beck. Who will you towering intellects be quoting next? Joe the Plumber? Zing! But, thank you for the "towering intellects" props, anyway. I'll be sure and add it to my resume'. And, who's this Joe the Plumber and why should I be quoting him? Is he like a rapper or somethi...

They also do eat much smaller portions. I don't know....that wasn't my experience. I just returned from France and I saw many a fashionably thin Parisian pack away some serious groceries. Portion sizes were quite large at most bistros and brasseries I visited, and I couldn't keep up with the locals.

Re: Anyone been to Irene's lately?

The last time I ate there, we were a group of 6 on the Friday night of FQ Fest. The food was good, but merely that.....just good. Nothing memorable. I find myself preferring Tommy's over Irene's these days.

Re: Brown Sugar Bacon

It is very subtle, and a great taste. Particularly for fish that have come out of the freezer. I can take last years specks out of t...

Re: Lafayette for Lunch, Dinner

Not even close to fine-dining, but Lafayette has some great "plate lunch" places that serve cajun/creole/soul food. Dwyer's, Laura's II, Creole Cafe and Creole Lunch House are a few of my favorites.

Re: Most Romantic Courtyard

I'd go with Bayona. Food's not too shabbly either. Though, they may not be seating out there right now if it's too hot.

Re: Lafayette for Lunch, Dinner

I think Pamplona is the best restaurant in Lafayette right now. Charlie G's would be my second choice. Cafe V is good, but their menu has hardly changed in 20 years (even w/ the arrival of Patout). I ate at Bistro Jolie a couple of months after its opening. Beautiful and comfortable space. The menu ...
