Many may remember this lovely little sandwich and soup place from its original location across from Tulane Emerg - it closed in about 2002, I think. I was working at Touro today and when I walked out to get lunch I discovered that they have reestablished themselves on Prytania St., in the site of the old Cafe Prytania. The owners went back to Australia for a few years, but decided to return. I was thrilled to see them - many of the menu items are familiar but there are a few new items too. Definitely worth a visit for lunch.

Also, extremely busy at lunch time. I was at a meeting at Touro a few weeks ago and we walked over there around 1 p.m. to get coffee. It took 30 minutes. I don't know if they were short of help that day or what. There was no one at the liquor bar up front. There was one guy at the coffee bar. He would take food orders, walk them back to a window toward the back of the building and then come back to try to wait on the others. There were a few people who had ordered food to pick up and still had to wait. One woman was upset and left since her order wasn't ready. In the middle of all this, the guy disappeared and a woman took his place but didn't know who ordered what. They were very nice and the coffee was good. Maybe they had some call-ins but they definitely needed more help and a better system for ordering food.

I noticed it yesterday and was asking the receptionist at my docs office about it.
