Son went by a week or so ago and it was closed. Called before heading over Sat. for pizza . Let it ring forever and no answer. Anyone know what's up?

Yeah, they closed last week...or was it the week before, I forget. They did say they were going to try to re-open in another location. I don't have any detail, sorry.

What is this business you speak of? I've never heard of it. If they made pizza, I would've gone there, had I known about it.
Perhaps they need to do a better job of marketing.
Somebody tell me where this place was. Gracias.

It was in the Bywater, on France. The pizza was pretty good, but it was too far off my usual paths to earn much repeat business from me. It was more of a bar than restaurant.

A dive bar in a lousy Bywater neighborhood with pizza that came the closest to home (NY/NJ shore). It was a pain to go but always worth it.

pizza was NOTHING like home (NY/NJ) 'za, IMHO
excessively spicy sauce
cornmeal crust
mediocre toppings
tower is the closest to home - not even close!

We're all entitled to our opinions, and IMO Tower's crust is too thick and their sauce is sweet. I agree with the cornmeal. A truly good pizza requires no topping.

I actually thought it was pretty good as long as you blotted the grease off the top first. Didn't they have some crime issues?

Lots of grease. Husband got pepperoni, I ordered plain or jalapeno which wasn't nearly as bad. Crime problem during the spree when several bars /customers were being robbered by same perps, including Mimis in the Marigny. Still an iffy neighborhood. Hope they reopen in a better area.
