Someone recently sent me an email titled "Ain't Dere No More" with a group of photos depicting New Orleans past. One, captioned "K&B - Canal" just didn't seem right, as the street did not appear to be Canal. Some Googling found the archive in the subject line of this thread, with the same photo and accurate information pertaining to the location. It was actually a K&B at the SE corner of St. Charles and Common. Next door was a leather goods shop which would later relocate to Canal St, which may have caused the original confusion.

As an aside, I also used Google Maps "street view" to scope out the location as it looks today. The building now houses a Gulf Coast B&T, and the leather goods shop is now a Subway. Ah, progress.

Anyway, after browsing the archive a couple of days, I recalled a user on TOB who asked about a certain Lautenschlager Market in the Marigny. I typed the name into the advanced search page, and voila! So, for "stingray78", here you go:

Some other searches to try: audubon zoo, katz, theater, bakery, lakeside, sears, schwegmann, maison blanche, woolworth.
