After both your comments regarding Skirt Steak at La Boca, I offer my little story.
I was at my daughter's in Sacramento this weekend, and Fri. night we went to The Sheepherder's Inn. Built in 1913, and the oldest building in Rancho Cordova (Sac. suburb). It was closed for over a year for refurbishment and reopened several months ago.
The waitress suggested that the two most popular items of the menu were the salmon and the skirt steak. After all your skirt steak comments, I had to go for it.
Almond Grilled Skirt Steak 19.50
marinated skirt steak, roasted garlic mashed potatoes,
fresh vegetables and maple berry-chipotle sauce
I know it is probably not the same preparation as La Boca, but is was a great dish. Other DC's had Braised Lamb Shank, Chicken Tequila Fettuccini, and Roast Duck. The lamb, chicken and duck also received great praise.
Anyone passing through Sacramento should keep the Sheepherder's Inn in mind!
