Baklava at Mona's

Post by globe9 »

Well on my quest for the best baklava in New Orleans, me and the GF drove over to Mona's on Banks St. after having dinner at Mikimoto. We just went to the little grocery next door and asked the man about Baklava. They carried it in a small size platter, which was 12 pieces for about $9.00, a med size platter, and a large box. I opted for the small, so I don't know the cost of the med. and large sizes.

When we got home, I ate a piece. It was very moist and very good! And at $9.00 for 12 pieces it was only .75 cents a piece, which is considerably cheaper than what I paid at Byblos for 2 pieces(I think it came out to about $3.89 for 2 pieces). I'm still looking for more sources for this addiction, but for now, I'll be getting the 12 piece platter at Mona's once a week.
