Sampled this one at Rouses today. The "seven daughters" refers to the fact that both their red & white proprietary blends are each from seven different varietals. Their website, http://www.7daughters.com, lists the red as being made from Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Syrah, Carignane and Sangiovese. I'm certain the bottle I tasted from listed Alicante Bouschet, but I'm not sure which one of the last four it replaces in the current bottling (the wine appears to be NV). I thought it had a good balance, very easy-to-drink-- perhaps dangerously so at 14.2%ABV-- and that those who usually find dry reds not to their taste would probably like it (smooth enough, and not overly tannic). I thought $11 was a little high ($15 list price), and that, if they could get it down under $10, it might be a good value. I didn't think I could get a good impression of the white right after tasting the red, so I didn't.

Thanks for the reviews. I will def. be getting a few bottles of the other wine that you recently suggested at Dorignacs. Might get a few bottles of this Seven Daughters too.
