I was using ans old "Great Chefs of New Orleans" cookbook last night and noticed a featured restaurant La Savoie in Metairie.
Anyone remember where this was?
The book is dated 1992.

The photo looks like Old Metairie.

I remember a place on Met .Rd/Friedrichs that was in an old 2 story house. Food was amazing, and they had a violin player. The property was torn down and is now a shopping strip. could that have been La Savoie?

Yes, I think that's it....I forgot about the place being torn down.

It's amazing how many of the restaurants in those "Great Chefs" are gone.
I used a picata recipe from La Riviera....there's also LaRuths'. Croziers (in the East), Christians, and a bunch more.

There was another restaurant in that same location in the house on Fredrichs called Gambrille's. It was pretty good, had an aniversary dinner there, I even remember what my wife had, Lobster Thermidor. I just can't remember what year it was.
