Old 97's Rock the HOB

I attended the Old 97's show Saturday night at the HOB. Wow, what a set.
These guys have been together for 15 years with no personel changes. What a tight group.
They played from just after 10:00 until almost 12:30. The played 7 or 8 songs from their new cd "Blame it on Gravity". They mixed those into a set full of old standards, including 6 songs from "Too Far to Care" (1997). The house was full and the show was enthusiastically received. There were two encore sets.
This is a band that is on top of their game right now. They will return to NO for Voodoo fest. Although I think a night club envirnoment is a much better one to see these guys, I reccoment them to anyone who goes to Voodoo.
