Which is it and more importantly, what is preferred?
LSU Fighting Tigers OR Bayou Bengals?
Nationally, all I'm hearing is Bayou Bengals from the broadcasters. What's correct?
LSU...I'm confused.

The historical nickname for the university is Fighting Tigers.
I think Bayou Bengals was just made up by a reporter looking for some alliteration.
LSU knows its nickname. Not like Auburn (Plainsmen, War Eagles, Tigers) or Bama (Crimson Tide, Elephants)

Thanks. That's what I thought. The Bengal-stuff was starting to remind me of the roach spray...

National broadcasters just love to say the words Cajun and Bayou.
