Chad's Bistro

I had lunch here today. To say I hated it would be a gross understatement. The waiter was beyond annoying. I cannot stand it when the waiter suggests we order some "spinach artichoke dip or perhaps fried calamari" when I am on a date or out with my friends. I find it utterly painful when I am at a business lunch with people I don't know very well. How about you don't suggest anything as your social status and income reflect that you rarely engage in fine dining and most likely you eat whatever slop comes out of the kitchen and a can of tomato soup when you get home?
I had something called the bbq oyster wrap which sucked. One tablemate had the club wrap which looked like it was stuffed with lunch meat. He hated it. Another tablemate ordered the Hawaiian ribeye. It looked like a subpar cut. He did eat it all though which is more than I can say for the guy who ordered the chicken fried steak.
Not recommended. Nor would I be willing to give this place another chance despite its relatively low price point.

Dude, why not admit your complicity in choosing to dine at a place in the burbs that backs up to a drainage canal on a one-way leg of a peripheral thoroughfare? Drago's was just a few blocks away, if that helps.

I know you are not familiar with the Metairie dining scene. You asked before when you had to succumb to the Metairie-ites. Why didn't you ask before going to that horrible place?
You know I live in Metairie... you could have asked me:)

We went there recently, only because I hadn't been to that incarnation of the place. We went at exactly noon on a Friday. High Lunch in Metairie time. There wasn't a soul in the restaurant - staff or otherwise. We waited what felt like 5 minutes (probably 45 seconds) and didn't see anyone. No way we were staying. Or going back.

Oh yeah, and Drago's is the be all, end all? If Drago's were my only other choice I would go without lunch.

We went there for lunch after Christmas shopping last year. Must have been the same waiter. And the same occurance: no one at the door, no one in the restaurant, a wait for menus and the offer to get us some yummy dip or calamari. Creepy? Well, yes. Did we leave? No.
Scanned the menu and from what I remember it was extensive. With no one in the place I was seriously worried about freshness (read: ptomaine).
Got I think it was a greek salad and some fried oysters and shrimp. All good, really. But who wants to dine alone with a weird waiter looking over your shoulder?
I'd of thought they were OOB by now...must be a bookie joint.

There were actually quite a few people having lunch there yesterday. A number of tables featuring well dressed, well for Metairie anyway, business types. I think they advertise on Fatzo's show. So much for his "I only accept advertising from places that are three stars or better."
I had no clue this place would be as bad as it was. So where does one go for a decent business lunch in Metairie?

Bozo's? (Avoid the Shrimp)
Andrea's? (Good fresh fish)
Casablanca? (Kosher Moroccan)
Greek Place corner of Causway and W. Esplanade
Impastato's (I've been twice and the food is actually pretty good)
Just a couple of thoughts.

WOW...you guys are quick on the delete finger...one person who's not totally enamored with Drago's and you wipe it out? Yet you let another place get slammed?
You getting kickbacks too?
