Vichyssoise - A Summer Taste Sensation

Fridge was a little empty yesterday. Made a list and took off shopping. While at the store spied big beautiful leeks. Since I had not made Vichyssoise in over ten years, a summer soup I totally adore, I grabbed 6 leeks, quickly reviewed what else I would need, and loaded same in my already full cart. The results of my efforts yesterday are shown in the following link.

Hi there, Art-
Firstly, I've never had Vichyssoise, nor knew what it consisted of. Looks AB-FAB!
Secondly, I've never seen "Picture Trail".... what a neato presentation!
Have a wonderful holiday weekend, guy!

Excellent "How To" with pictures. I even like the fact that you let us see your standard daily booze. Good stuff!

looks great. I want it now, and I want it delivered!
reminds of a story of a friend in Vegas, who found a sponsor to take her to dinner. this guy thought he was all that, ordered the Vichyssoise, proceeded to spit it out, then sent it back 'cause his soup was cold. oy!
you've inspired to go make some for these ball n chain days and nights.

Art, this looks great. So good in fact, that I'm about to start cooking it right now.
BTW, I love Tito's vodka.

No one seems to have caught the GREEN PEPPER in the picture. It was an observation test.
It did not go into the Vichyssoise.
It was later stuffed with Dirty Rice and baked for my dinner.

:D:D
Have a great 4th everyone!

Yeah, Nan...haven't been online as much as normal. My little boys been sick, so I've had a little less free time. You getting ready to make the move, or is it already done?

Moved "stuff" on Wed. Headed back Sunday for the sanitizing dude. Then, physically moving in on the 8th.... hospital admission on 12th, transplant on 17th. Very excited, as we're both looking forward to getting this sh*t behind us and moving on! Hope to see you soon. Hope your kiddo feels better, man! Have a delightful weekend.

Tell me, Art.... did you use Bear's recently posted Dirty Rice recipe? Love the stuff...will have to make it sometime. Until then, I'll get my fix from Popeye's.

Bear's Dirty Rice recipe is on my to-do list. I used a new product I found.
My bad. My bad.
