ate lunch there the other day, as I had a hankering for boiled seafood.

boiled crawfish were med to large w/great flavor at $4.50 lb.; corn .50 a piece; potatoes $1.50 for 2
the boiled shrimp were ginormous at $13.99 lb w/about 20 in that "lb."

the table next to me were enjoying oysters on the half shell and the char grilled oysters, both on the specials board...wish I had brought my glasses. the oysters were also ginormous. they must have been really good, as they didn't share.

this place continues to be a favorite of mine for peel n eat of the purged and binged.

Their boiled seafood is consistently great. Everything else on their menu is pretty good, but has skyrocketed in price, to the point of being really unreasonable.

I got 50lbs of live, select crawfish from KJeans last Friday that were on the large side of medium and I paid 3.25/lb for them. Well worth it.

That is my problem based on my two visits over the last few months. I can't remember the exact price, but I got 6 crabs two weeks ago and I thought it was around $22 or so.
Schaffers in Bucktown had crawfish for $2.35 a pound this weekend if you purchased 10 pounds are more. I know they are not quite as big are good, but I don't know if I can justify the price difference.

I also had a plate of white beans and shrimp last time I went and it was excellent for a pretty normal price.

Don't drink a beer there. You'll have to take out a loan.

are we comparing prices on boiled eat-in to live takeaway?

I wasn't. I expect to pay more for eat-in boiled seafood, and I think the Galley is reasonable in that regard. Everything else there is ridiculous ($24 entrees, $7 onion rings, etc).
