New Burrito Place

I am a fan of burritos. I frequent Juan's, and I loved Kokopelli's. Occasionally I will hit Taqueria for a California Burrito.

There's apparently a new burrito place coming to town: Izzo's Illegal Burritos (I don't know what that means). It appears to be a chain out of Baton Rouge (based on their website http://www.izzos.com - warning, very flash intensive). It's a block on the Clearview side of Houma Blvd on the south side of Vets.

I'm excited for this. We can always use another easy lunch place in Metairie. (Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with this place).

Is anyone familiar with the places in Baton Rouge?

My wife talks very fondly of Illegal Burrito from her days at LSU. I'm a big burrito fan too, and have often wondered why we don't have more dedicated burrito shops here. A place like Freebirds, or Chipotle. I hope Izzo's does well.

I don't know anything about it, but it's right next to (one of) the Starbucks I frequent. They are always working on that place though....It's certainly a well traveled area....

I ate at the one in BR once several years back and remember it as being pretty good.
I am a burrito fan to and def. welcome the addition to Metairie.

Suzie, where is that?

I went to the one in BR a few months ago.
OMG, I had no idea it was kids eat free night.... I went with a friend who suggested it. Don't get me wrong, I love children.
But this was a kids free for all with a clown & mime, balloons, etc.

Kids in a restaurant is always a hot topic, so I am just warning those of you who have issues with kids running around to avoid this place on kids night.
For those of you with kids who like to run around, well, they will be right at home on kids night.

The food was okay. It probably was better than I experienced because it was overstimulation overload so much so I couldn't really taste much.
It's not just about the kids, I'd say the same if there was a loud rock band playing.

Isabella,
It's (Starbucks) located at
4312 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Metairie, LA 70006
Cross Streets: Between Kingman St and Houma Blvd

Same side as target/sears a block or 2 before, heading towards clearview pkwy

mimes and balloons? I have a son, but he doesn't like loud places (people or music) The grandma in me must have rubbed off on him....AHHAA

Sounds interesting, I will try it out. While reading the menu, it reminds me of Felipe's, any one else get that impression?

To me it is more like McFelipe's. Well, the one in BR anyway.
Bright lights, tons of employees falling over each other.
Personally I'd say the place is like a cross between Subway
& Felipe's leaning more toward the feel of a Subway.

I think it will do in a pinch.
Keep your expectations low & you might think
it's ok. I mean that in a good way.

I do miss Kokopelli's, but this a much bigger, more of a chain feel.
