It has been over 20 years since I was in that area, but Friday I have to drive down to to see a customer who is in the Jefferson Hwy area. Is the Oriental Triangle still sitting at the base of the HP Long bridge? Is it still as good as it used to be?

BTW, while I'm asking, did anyone ever do anything with the old Tchoupitoulas Plantation? When the Genneros ran it the food was above average, but they had a great bar.

love the Triangle. nothing better than sitting at the bar and having a way back of silly drinks and pu pu platter. the pot stickers nourished me thru a week of dental pain. their Ya Ka Mien will cure anything. :D

On one of our recent River Road day rides we took a look at the place and it's looking very nice lately. It is called Cedar Grove and is being used as a reception facility. http://www.cedargrovetchplantation.com/

Thanks for the info guys.

The bar at T-chops with Sam the bartender was a legendary watering hole. Only the Absinthe House is meant to last forever.

RE: Oriental Triangle, I think it changed hands in the late 90s/early 00s. IIRC, it was at least partially owned by an Angelette family with roots on bayou Lafourche....at some point in the last 10 years, the physical property seems to have changed hands (exterior renovation, new tenants), and I can recall someone telling me that the original proprietors had retired. I can't say that I've ever set foot in the place, but my late MinL used to work in Elmwood and it was her office's standard takeout chinese lunch joint.
