BBQ shrimp

Sweetie made this at home tonight and they were fantastic. Only problem was that some of them were very hard to peel. Like the shrimp meat was stuck to the shells and I had to work hard to separate one from the other.
What was done wrong that the shells didn't peel right off?

Thats a symptom of being overcooked unfortunately.

Yep... overcooked. I've done that, boy is it discouraging.

Hard to control when shrimp are not all the same size.

Sorry guys, computer locked up, meant to add that it's not necessarily due to overcooking. I've had the sticking shell problem peeling raw shrimp.
