Murphy's Law or How To Get Red Wine out of Cotton

Last night during a really wonderful gathering of old friends and new, and EXCELLENT food, I watched in slow motion as an entire glass of really smooth red Brazillian or Portugese, (not sure which) wine tsunami-ed towards me, engulfing my white shirt and khaki slacks.... I still have this mental picture of all that wine, suspended in the air, in a large sheet.....
So, I was rather sticky and wet, not to mention smelly....
At some point I stepped outside to indulge in a smoke.... and I hear quietly, "hey Ms. Judi"..... a group of my son's friends - oh yeah. (For those who don't know, I have a son who is a Franciscan Friar, and his friends are profoundly... well, religious).
So there I am, the mother of this paragon.... covered in red wine, smoking.... rofl!!!!!!!!!!!!! You know how it goes, the more you try to explain....
But here's the thing... I sat in those clothes for several hours. I thought they were ruined. We sprayed them with spray and wash, washed them in cold water.... and the stains came out a lovely dark blue color.
Without drying them, this morning I put my machine on soak, added Tide and bleach, soaked them for twenty minutes and rinsed...
Voila'.... all gone.
