Looking for some reccs for a dinner before Friday night's Hornets game. It is a late tip-off (8:30pm) so we will have at least an hour to dine. Walking distance to the arena would be nice, but not a requirement. My thoughts thus far are Herbsaint, Rambla, cafe adelaide's fast break special, and Luke. I am most excited by Herbsaint but any other suggestions would be welcomed.

Please don't try to "dine" in just an hour. Book at 6:00 or 6:30 and have time to enjoy your meal.

Here's the deal, my husband and I both work until 5:30, we have a 2 year old daughter, and will have a rare "date night." I'm so sorry if we can't "dine" in an hour, but I think it is plenty of time to enjoy a nice meal. Maybe we should just pick up a burger because you know if every meal isn't a 3 hour affair its not worth doing. If you want to know why no one posts on this board anymore it is because a simple request is met by a stick up your arse response. So if anyone else wants to give the advice I asked about please feel free.

Thanks for the suggestion of horinoya, but sushi is something we can do with our daughter and definitly are looking for a place that is not "kid friendly"

If you get down there and think you have the time, do Herbsaint. Another choice is the deal at Cafe Adelaide.

I have actually eaten at Lucy's before Saints and Hornets game. It is def. at the low end of the spectrum, but not bad.

Also, I don't really see where anyone was rude to you with their response, if anything it was just a helpful comment. This ain't Fitzmorris you are dealing with around here.

Sorry that my response was taken in that manner. It was certainly not intended in that manner. I worked in a "rat race" exsistance for many years. I missed out on many pleasures because I was in too much of a hurry. Now retired, on somewhat limited income, I (we) try to really enjoy each of the special pleasures we allow ourselves. That's where I thoughts come from.

I was under the impression that-- among other things-- it was the "stick up your arse responses" over at TOB, not here, that led to its apparent demise as a food board. I don't seem to see much of that kind of behavior on this forum, (almost) everyone seems to get on reasonably well.

Sorry but Allegro Bistro doesn't open before the Hornets games. They tried one season, Pre-K, and didn't make enough to break even. The bar is open and they get a pretty good pre-game crowd but no food.

I agree about the food. I really like the place. OTOH, my office is in the building and the owners are friends of mine so I'm not entirely objective on the subject of this one restaurant.

I've seen the above suggestions and can only add:

Leonardo's, next to Herbsaint. I've never seen kids in there and it''s Italian if you're in the mood for that. It's also good and different from the usual New Orleans Italian stuff.

Oh and went to Herbsaint last week, the food was exceptional. Haven't been to La Rambla yet, I would like to try it.

Allegro is closer to the dome, that is why I choose it before the concert.

Sorry if I over-reacted to your post, Schuarta. On further review it is not at all condescending and I get where you are coming from. I am not a frequent poster, but I do lurk on this board almost everyday. We decided on Herbsaint and will try to get there as early as possible. I will post about my experience. Any specific suggestions on this place, I was thinking of doing a couple of appetizers instead of an entree.
