Vincents in Metairie

Post by BTG »

Took my wife to lunch Friday at Vincents. I really forgot how much I like that place.

We of course started with the corn and crabmeat bisque. You would have a hard time convincing me that there is a soup on this planet better than this bowl of goodness. It is rich and very flavorful with just the right amount of spicyness so as to not overpower the crab. There were four or five big pieces of crabmeat floating around. This soup is served in a house made bread bowl that is great for scraping the bottom to get every last bit.

The entree came with a salad and I selected the blue cheese vinigerette. Yummy!

My entree was the eggplant napolean that consisted of three perfectly fried pieces of eggplant stacked on one another with crabmeat in between them. This was topped by a cream sauce and complitmented by three large broiled shrimp. Outstanding.

The wife had the grilled salmon and it very much met her approval.
The entrees come with a small side dish of pasta alfredo and steamed broccoli. I was too full to eat that part, but I did taste the pasta and the stuff just melted in my mouth it was so fresh and tender.

Our server was the person who had greeted us so warmly at the door when we arrived and she provided excellent service to go along with her charming personality.
I love when it all lines up well like this.

The only negative of the meal was the old fashioned that I ordered was not all that good.

We liked Vincent's also. Only been once but everything was good. Great. Now I'm hungry.
I like kids. They taste like chicken.

I find the uptown location to be a little cheap with the crabmeat. Other than that I strongly recommend it.

We've only eaten uptown but it's always been good. Artichokes Vincent is an excellent app.

My hubby and I love Vincents. The service and food are always great and consistent. The crabmeat soup in the breadbowl is one of my favorite items in all of New Orleans!
