I know I'm supposed to lay bottles down and the cork stays wet. What about screw cap? Can I just stand them up?

I ask because I have no room for the case I just bought and was hoping I could leave the box in a spare room (it's temp controlled). The bottles are all screw cap...I'm thinking it's not a big deal, but I'd like to hear yalls opinon.

Since Stelvin closures are about as air tight as you can get it should not be a problem. If fact they are so airtight some people worry that big reds will not age properly. They need a little air leakage to age it seems

I realize that Alcan is headquartered in Montreal, but they do speak enough English there that they should know the difference between the words "reclose" and "recluse."

You will drink it all long before it makes a difference. You can stand a bottle with a cork up for several months without damage.
