Stanley report

Ever since I saw Bear's picture of the eggs benedict poor boy, I couldn't get it out of my head, so this morning we went for breakfast.

There were three of us, all the four top tables were full, so we had to wait a bit, no problem.

Finally we sit, had a nice chat with Scott's mother, I recognized her from Stella! Then...........nothing. No waiter, no water, no menu, no service. Nada. I'm talking a good 15 minutes trying to flag someone down.

Asked three times for a menu. Finally get a menu.....husband asks three times for water. No one comes, no waiter, no nothing. We asked three different people.

I honestly thought they didn't speak English, and that is why the three apparent waiters running around ignored us.

Finally......... waiter appears, we order, My mother and I get a bloody mary, husband asks for water again.... waiter appears, bloody in hand. No water.

My mother ordered the omelette sandwich, which she said was delicious, and ordered a side of Creole Potato. The potato never did show up during the time we were eating.

When we were ready to pay the bill, voila, they appear. We told them it was too late, and we didn't want them.

The table next to us, three different people sit down, then leave.

Okay, my fault, I know they have only been open a week, and I did not listen to the TF defensive dining rule.

The food was good though. They are just going through opening jitters. I will go back, after they get their act together.

Please don't take this as a slam, last time I made honest negative comments about a restaurant it turned into a three page controversy

Thanks for the report. We all know that it is much harder to post a report with negative experiences.....as it should be. I thought you were very fair.

"Opening jitters" shouldn't excuse any of those multiple service failures.

Thanks for the report, Yvette.

I phoned them this morning to ask their hours and was greeted by a very harried sounding young lady. Something told me I'd better wait, although very tempted by those pictures! I'm sure they'll get the kinks worked out soon & I can't wait to have the experience!

Absurd. There's no way this place will be able to overcome these service issues. I predict a quick death for this concept.

Yes, and you should write a letter.

I had dinner tonight with a friend who went there for breakfast this morning and she said the same thing. Omelette sandwich very good but service poor. Hopefully they'll get better because if the food is as good as it was on Decatur, then I want them to succeed.
