Wine for Thanksgiving

Does anyone have a suggestion for wines to drink with a traditional Thanksgiving dinner (other than Nouveau Beaujolais)?
There must be some interesting whites like PNW Gewertztraminers and Rieslings. And for reds, perhaps a velvety Pinot Noir?
I'm all ears. Thanks.

We always drink copious amounts of Pinot Noir unless my bro in law brings over something really special that's not a PN. ....but they'll be in Mexico so I guess we'll have to wait until Christmas.
I think I still have 2 bottles Etude Rose Pinot Noir that I might bring since we're a smaller group this year.

In the absence of trying to pair with specific dishes, I would just say go with wines you think you'd like that aren't "too" anything-- too sweet, too acidic, too tannic, too big.

Pinot Noir is a perfect Thanksgiving wine.

Speaking of strictly reds, I would tend to agree. It goes with the majority of "traditional" Thanksgiving dishes, and usually doesn't clash. On the white side, the easy (and conventional) rec is Chardonnay, but I would rather just about any other off-dry white or white blend.

On the white side, I think Chenin Blanc works well.

Yes, it would. Some time ago, elsewhere, I posted about Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc/Viognier. It went well with last year's menu, which featured turkey, and, I think, it may well again this year with a boneless pork loin with a fruit/nut-based stuffing.

We'll have a choice of pinot noir or champagne. Or both!

Sigh...I guess I better leave my screw top bottle of Reunite Lambrusco at the house. Damned wine snobs.
