Discussion in another thread prompted the question:

A little off subject, but I've never had cassoulet. What's a good place to get it in the city?

Jesse, La Provence has it, IIRC, but then again, there are the changes, so someone else could tell you for certain.

In the city, well, frankly, I don't think I've seen it more than a handful of times. Usually as a special. Sorry, not remember where either.

It's one of those dishes that's great to make in the winter to warm your kitchen!

Now that I think about it, Clementine's might have it as well. But check first!

Martinique had it on their Reveillon menu last year and it was real good. Maybe they'll do it again this year. Chef Eric is doing a great job over there.

Luke has a decent one as a special one day a week. It's pretty good but not the best thing they do. I think it's a little dry. OTOH, my family has been making this dish for decades for parties and such so maybe my standards for it are a bit high. If you're really in the mood, try it at Luke.

Flaming Torch probably has the best in town. I agree with Jonathan the one at Luke is a little dry.

I agree with Bam. I'd forgotten about the Flaming Torch. I think you should tr it there. It's better than Luke's.

I have had twice at Bistro de Maison de Ville. First time it was knock dead perfect. Second time it was too salty and a little dry.

I have had it at Flaming Torch, very good. I had it at La Provence when Rene was there, very good. Luke....I did not like it at all.

My all time favorite was at Bistro Jeanty in Napa..., yeah, I know you said here, sorry, just had to throw that one out in case anyone wants one heading that way.
