It would be far more beneficial to the board to discuss where one dined on their coupons than on the machinations of how any such discount may or may not be derived.

"The ADVERTISED savings is 80%"

They don't advertise 80% off of the price of your meal...they advertise 80% off of the coupon. Are you really not "getting" this?

Also there are no hidden fees like on Ticketmaster and orbitz, etc.

Restaurant.com charges you no "fees" when you buy their coupons.

Having to pay tax and tip at a restaurant is not a hidden fee...it's a standard.

The only way you're having to pay somethign with these things that you might not normally pay is the 18% tip...and if you're not normally paying that then you need to stay home.

Sounds good to me Bam Bam. Here is where I've dined using the coupons...that I can remember...

Monsoon (in Houston)
Fausto's (twice)
Don Victor's
Vincent's
Star Steak & Lobster
One (twice)
Checkered Parrot
Petunia's
Garden's Edge
Cafe Rani (twice)
Cafe di Blasi

Vincent's. Glad I got the coupon; as it was not on my radar before, I was missing out on some really good food.
Have Fausto's, which is always on my radar. Also Cafe di Blasi, which I'm anxious to try.
And then I have some for out of town restaurants for when I travel.

So far I've used coupons for:

Fausto's (as I already mentioned in this thread)
City Diner
Don Vitor's
Mimi's (see other thread for review)

I'm still holding:
Chops Bistro and Martini Bar
Le Parvenu
32 Degrees Food and Spirits
Fiorella's
Iron Pot

I will probably use Chops or Le Parvenu this weekend.

Once I had a lasagna at Cafe DiBlasi that sat in some overly salty sauce, but with that said I have eaten there probably dozens of times over the years and that's the only bad thing I can say. I miss going there. You should enjoy it.

Ran into the first problem tonight that I have heard of using the restaurant.com coupon.
My in-laws went to Cypress tonight for dinner. They are usually very tight with dining money and would not have normally gone, but we gave them a $25 off deal from the website. The restaurant told them that they quit taking them in January. I think I purchased this one in July. I also thought that they were still on the website as late as August.

My bad. Got bad info. They quit taking the coupons in June.

Go to their website and find their phone number. Call them and let them know that Cypress is no longer accepting the coupons. They will issue a code allowing you to get any coupon for any restaurant in any city.

I always call the restaurant before going there with my coupon. I've only had one denial in the very beginning which was Baru.

Thanks EAC, one that I have several for closed. It's not probably on your radar, but was in my hood. Bourre's. I also have another for a different place that closed, but now can't remember what it was earlier in the year.
I have lost track of all the ones I printed out too. need to find them!
