Re: TOB
I began posting on the "TOB" (to use the popular vernacular) about 10 years ago (I guess it was the original incarnation of that forum -- it was the original internet message board with Tom Fitzmorris, anyway). Although my participation was not continuous, it was more than sporadic. I witnessed many changes during that time, many personalities coming and going, many feuds and conflicts, the appearance of many competitor sites (although many were/are worthless), and, most importantly, many predictions of its imminent demise. It somehow managed to survive all of that and even, during some periods, to grow in popularity as well as depth and breadth. I find it somewhat amusing that it appears "they" (the new owners, the admins/mods, or whoever) may have finally actually killed it when even Tom couldn’t quite manage that feat with his enormous ego and ridiculous insecurities. They should really be congratulated for not only accomplishing what has seemingly been a difficult if not impossible job for so many but also for doing it so well and so quickly.
Oh, yeah, I almost forgot. Hey JudiB, of just what "crap" did I bring here when I "slithered through" the door? Are you trying to hurt my feelings?

She also has a contract with New Orleans.com. Not much you can say when you are an indentured servant. It is ashame too because of all their moderators, she was the one that put the most into the site. I do suspect that the en masse defection could be a material change in circumstances that might void the contract.Admin wrote:Our impression was that she was more standing up for Kimba. Still being affiliated with them, she's got to take the prudent course, and not knock the place, at least publicly. We were always just perplexed as to whether it was a matter of they wouldn't, couldn't, or weren't being allowed to address the issues.

It aint easy being affiliated with nocom. I actually had to handle all of TF's bannings. It was a rather distasteful part of the job, especially with him "tommenting" other peoples posts. I wanted to ban him, but I also had to pay a mortgage - Grr.bam bam wrote:She also has a contract with New Orleans.com. Not much you can say when you are an indentured servant. So how did the Fitzbannings take place? Did he just order you to ban these people? Was there an review or was his word the law? And when did management realize Fitz was the problem?Alex wrote:It aint easy being affiliated with nocom. I actually had to handle all of TF's bannings. fitzbannings - LOL To funny. I will elaborate on this more one day. Perhaps when I know it won't wind up on a blog.bam bam wrote:So how did the Fitzbannings take place? Short answer is he would email a list with reasons, I consulted management, was told to do what he wanted.

Fitzmorris is the most pathetic example of ANYTHING this town has ever seen.
I sincerely pity your having to subjugate yourself to his whims.
What a seriously cowardly worm of a human being.

What was the reason for my banning the first time? Not cowering to his "threatening" PM's?

I do not remember. That 6 months of my life is like one big confusing nightmare. He seldom gave any reason except for "these cranks have gone to far" or something like that.PNG wrote:BINGO!

If you had kept good notes, you could have written a book. The book would have been wildly popular on the New Orleans forum scene!Alex wrote:I do not remember.
