An exciting day in the big city

Homemade Cajun, I read just about everything. I go down the street to the library and get 4 or 5 books at a time. I usually get a series like you mentioned (or if an author has a recurring character) and try to read them in order. I sometimes read everything by one author and switch to another author than picking by subject. I like murder mysteries, true life crime, biographies, books that keep you in suspense, etc. I generally do not go for the romance or too far-fetched sci-fi. I also pick books based on where the settings are, ie, New Orleans themed or NC places, it interests me if I have been to the places mentioned, etc. I was lazy this last time and picked up Kathy Reichs books, she was on the what your neighbors are reading shelf. She is the author that inspired the Fox drama Bones. It is pretty good and an "easy read". Although I did find myself picturing the actress and having her "voice" in my head while reading. LOL

Hurricane party!

Yes, we need to do our our hurricane party too. Unfortunately my appetite seems to have died. I hate to waste beautiful PNW smoked salmon that I just brought back from a trip out there on an gusto-less appetite. But I suspect it won't return til Gustav is dead & buried.
