My husband stuffs his own olives, anchovies and blue cheese etc.

I bought a jar 13oz jar of the World Market brand olives stuffed with blue cheese marinated in garlic and peppers. The cheese is like a little brick (looks more like tofu than cheese) and the olives just don't taste right.
I won't be buying them again.

We ate at Acme last night. Not a fan of the place at all and I could pick apart the dinner. Not the point here.
While it was initially slow it picked up after 8pm with most tables getting charbroiled. It didn't seem a lot of people were worried about the spill.
Did I mention I wasn't a fan of the place?

Good tip, thanks. I've tried the ones at WF a while back & had no complaints.
Stuffing your own is the way to go tho.

I called Zydeco tonight because I really wanted an oyster poboy.
No problem they said, come on down.

I said, "Really?, the oysters are safe?" Yes, ma'am, they are now getting them from Texas. Damn. I wish he hadn't told me, that blew it for me & I ended up just skipping dinner.

This whole damn situation is quite the appetite spoiler all the way around.
If anyone has found a good volunteer group, let me know. I'm checking them out as well. I can't just sit here & do nothing.

As far as oysters go, May is definitely the time when you see specials disappear.

Was going to order two dozen raw for lunch tonight. Went over to the shuckers' counter and saw they were smallish. Vince told me they were from Lake Borne and not nearly as good as what he had been getting. So I only got a dozen.

I would have to say that my assessment was correct, we are now overpaying for an inferior product. Not nearly as fat and salty as what I had been seeing around town.
