Understood. At this moment, I'm between fridges & have a cube. I could not fit a whole duck in there, but pieces - yes! I didn't know if you needed this for your food class or some special circumstance.

If you can't find just legs, I'd be happy to take a doz thawed duck breasts off your hands! ;)

Seriously, I think Hong Kong or WF is your best bet.
I'm sure WF would order the legs for you - esp a dozen.
Let us know, and if they say you need to order more than that,
certainly there are enough of us that would be willing to go in on this.

Let us know what you find out!

Make pastrami from them. I'm serious. I use a recipe from the Real & Rustic cookbook by Emeril and smoke them on my Green Egg. It is excellent. I'm pretty sure all Emeril's recipes are available on his website so you should check it out.

I meant to post this earlier, but I had an auto accident & totally forgot. Sorry.

The butcher at Whole Foods Arabella said they would have duck legs in on Saturday. So . . . my guess is they still have some left. 6.99 lb.

Awww, shucks, I missed 'em. I didn't see this post until today, but by chance I was at WF Arabella on Sunday. I asked the youngish butcher if he had duck legs, he said NO, offered to cut up a whole duck, but said I'd have to buy the whole thing.

Hong Kong market has whole, fresh ducks, so after Thanksgiving & my family reunion (grits & grillades for 50), I just might be tackling confit and trying to get rid of a bunch of duck uppers.

I finally got the skinny on duck legs at Whole Foods. Yes, the display only has whole ducks, but according to the meat dept manager, you don't have to buy the whole thing. They WILL cut them up for you, and you can just buy the legs--contrary to other employees' assertion that such was not possible. He even printed out the "duck legs" code for me, in case subsequent employees don't understand the procedure. So my duck issues are solved. Thanks, y'all.

Will you tell us the mgr's name?
I was told by the employee I spoke with that he could cut it up, but I had to buy the whole thing.

Told him I only wanted legs & that's when he said they'd be in (last) Saturday.

Are there numbers on the code?

Like you, I'd love to buy some, especially on a whim
and would like to keep that info handy.

If you'd rather PM it, I understand.

Either way, thanks so much for the info.

I don't have the numbers with me today, but the meat department manual of SKU codes has a page for duck, and one of the SKUs is duck legs.
