Have you ever been to Cote Sud?
Love Cote Sud. If the weather permits, there are some tables out front too.
The lasagna is killer.
Also in the Riverbend area is Sara's; they have a table in a private room where you sit on pillows on the floor. The food is good too.

Thanks all for the suggestions.
Despite all my hopes for getting something nice out of this very low key casual evening, I was talked into going to Carmines on Veterans. Not much worth posting about. Food was ok at best and if it were not for someone we know telling us to ask for a certain waitress, who was the owners daughter, I probably would have not enjoyed the place at all.
Oh well, next weekend we will be in Destin and I have a few things lined up to hopefully make it a nice celebration.

My condolences. I know how it is when you get talked in to going to a place you really don't want to go to.
I rarely do that, but there are occasions where it just makes more sense to go along for the ride.
Have a fabulous time in Destin.
A suggestion is to try Vin'tij. Call ahead & talk to Chef John Jacob.
Let him know you are from New Orleans. If he has the staff & isn't slammed, he could very well be up to doing a "feed me". No promises he says but you could inquire - but you need to speak directly to him & make sure you say NOLA!

Had the pleasure of dining there several months ago with one of Chef's regulars, and we had an inventive, really wonderful meal. As this is a wine store AND restaurant, half the fun is the pairing!
