Seither's is one of the greatest neighborhood dives. We go at least once a month. They only have 6 or 8 tables but it's never full. We get the boiled seafood platter and my husband eats the shrimp and/or crawfish and I eat the crabs.
It's sort of the way I remember Alonso's and Charlies being. Charlie's went down hill toward the end when John became less involved and Pat took over. We got to the point where we didn't even go because it was so spicy. My husband likes to sweat when he eats seafood and even he thought it was too spicy.
We went to Charlies when the new owners opened but they had no seafood because (and I swear the waitress said this) "we don't have anyone who knows how to boil seafood". I got the brisket and it was okay but just okay.
Seither's also has stuff to buy in their store on the left side of the building. I haven't been to it but a friend said she buys crawfish pistolettes from there that are fantastic.

This is great info! On some Mondays I work across the street from Seither's.
I rarely get a lunch hour, but a crawfish pistolette to go sounds wonderful!

Does anyone know what their hours are?

We went to Seither's tonight. Yep, you're all right..it's a keeper. Doug and ladywhowaits had boiled shrimp..I'm a wuss...I want the heads off of my shrimp...so I had crabcakes. Dinner was good..we'll be going back. Has anyone tried their barbecued shrimp? I may have to have a few drinks before I go...then I can handle the heads on shrimp:p
