I loved that. BTW, you CAN edit your own posts to remove TOMMENTS. I've been deleted a few times there, too. It's tiresome.

Of course you can, but it is an almost certainty to get the entire post deleted if Tom notices. That is the voice of experience speaking. Tom's antics are more than tiresome, and I am constantly amazed at the number of people who listen to him, subscribe to his newsletters, attend his Eat Club dinners, and, most of all, take his cruises. Why would anyone spend 10% - 15% more for a cruise (I've priced them out of curiosity) to pay for Tom and his family? It's absurd.

I'll admit that I am NOT a TF fan...but...I do confess to listening to his show. (as do many of you ....waaaay too many references to the show for "non listeners") I listen strictly to hear the callers. There are a lot of savvy diners who don't visit food forums at all but do in fact listen to (and call in to) Tom's show.
Like it or not, he's the only game in town. -At least he's the only one on the air when I'm driving home from work.

I still think things will pick up here once the weather gets better and folks settle in to the "back to school" schedule.

IMO, the kick offs of the Saints and OYSTER seasons alone will get folks out and about and into the restaurants.

Not to worry, BTG. We've been on vacation, getting ready for school, considering a career change...

Things will pick up as early as next week, certainly post-Labor Day as students return, guests come into town for meetings, Saints & LSU food must be prepared/consumed.

And I for one have to make some decision about candidates- there is an election in a couple of weeks and I am ignorant to the candidates' positions, etc. And there is no shortage of scandals to discuss. There is of course the presidential election cycle, which will ramp into high gear after Labor Day. I am sure BamBam will have something pithy to say as soon as he gets out of Decadence costume. :)

RouxTheDay (& Gourmondo), I suppose all those posters on Tom's board don't mind the weather or care about the start of school? I also suppose in your fantasy world such bizarre and ridiculous "reasons" are rational rather than laughable.

I will admit that I've only listened to Tom maybe 3 or 4 times in the past few years even though I listened to his shows quite a few times in the past. I must have missed those "savvy diners who don't visit food forums at all but do in fact listen to (and call in to) Tom's show" so I will just take your word for it for the time being until I determine just how far reaching your fantasy world actually is.
