Had a miserable lunch there a few weeks ago. Ordered the RB PB, last time I had a sandwich that small it was on a tray at a wedding reception. Wife got the BBQ shrimp PB, a tasteless mess made with tiny gumbo shrimp.
I can't believe I wasted a lunch in NO on that joint.
Glad they have a good reuben, I'm sure that will attract thousands of reuben lovers from all over the country. Oh wait, you can go to Schlotsky's anytime.

If a top-notch reuben isn't reason enough to patronize a restaurant, I don't know what is. What makes Liuzza's reubens superior to others?

It may not be the classic example, but a late night reuben from Verti Mart is not something to be sneered at. They're pretty tasty and, if you like to buy your food by the pound, a big sandwich.

I like mine grilled, too, Eatin.
Every St. Patrick's Day, I cook alot of extra corned beef and make a bunch of reubens... they freeze well.....
Just thaw em out and grill em. (With ALOT of butter, in my case)

LOL! I posted about our most recent visit there a few months ago on tob, We shared a BBQ Shrimp Poboy. It was made with the 100-120 count canned shrimp as you mentioned. It was horrible! The service was very innattentive too. Never again.

Lunched there today. Had Reubens and potato salad. Were greeted upon entering, and service was not at all inattentive. As to the sandwiches: had better, had worse. But these were grilled and tasty, and, as noted above, did suffer slightly from the soggies on the dressing side. Will have to give Martin a shot next time we're in the mood.

I agree that LbtT usually has a great Reuben. (I love Stein's also). But for me their gumbo is the best. It suffered after the levee failure for a long time but it has been spot on for at least a year now. Hmm. I think I'll start a new gumbo thread.

Had that Reuben at Martin today. Best quality in all categories so far, of those previously mentioned-- and I've had them all-- and at a more-than-reasonable price.
