Yes, Ruth's is in that new Renaissance development but "according to my sources" they are booked all weekend.

Re: Restaurant Recs for Jackson, Ms.
We decided to give Amerigo's a try. They only reserved 2 tables every 15 minutes and saved the rest for walk-ins. Seems this is common in Jackson as we were told this by several other places.
We arrived around 5:30 and go a great seat at the bar. Put our name on the list and was offered a table almost immediately. They let us keep pushing our name back until we were ready for the table. We sat at 6:15 in what may have been the best seat in the house. We were in the corner and both able to see the entire dining room...and it was packed.
For app we had:
CALAMARI FRITTI Flash fried with creamy caper pesto sauce and marinara. This was very good and perfectly fried.
My super hot looking wife with the knee high boots and short skirt had the scallop special. It came with 5 huge, perfectly seared scallops, risotto and haricots verts. Best dish of the night.
I ordered from the menu:
VEAL SALTIMBOCCA Stuffed with mozzarella, ham and sage, oven roasted
and served over polenta with sautéed spinach in a tomato brown sauce.
Another winner. Everything was prepared well.
Service was very good considering how they were slammed. Every table was filled as you'd expect on Valentine's Day.
Thanks for the rec. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

restaurant revue wrote:We're training to Jackson after Mardi Gras to stay at the restoration of the historic hotel. directly across from the station, that Deuce McAlister has been championeering for several years. We plan to eat at the hotel, at the other downtown hotel and the cafe @ MMOA(Mudeum of Art) but would like additional options.
I'm assuming you're talking about the King Edward? We heard all the hype and went for happy hour one Friday and it was a snooze fest. That whole area was completely dead. I hope you have a better experience. Please post after the trip!
