Still want to try Muriels, as I have had allot of favorable recs for Muriels from friends and Nola natives. Any comment on Irene's. I have got one night left to fill. So far I have Muriels, Pelican Club and Brigtsen's for dinner. Commanders, Redfish Grill & N.O. School of cooking for lunch. Then it's off to Pensacola Beach and a starvation diet!!Thanks

I used to live a few doors down from Irene's and it was great back then but I haven't been back in years. I can't help you now. I know she parted ways with her chef/hubby.

I didn't see Rio Mar mentioned for your Redfish inquiry. They do great redfish and seafood of all sorts. One of the best spots in town. Call for reservations asap. They laughed at me the last time I called for last minute res. Spanish w/great Spanish wines. Warehouse district.

Ratcheese, I am not surprised that Rio Mar laughed at you when to called for a last minute reservation. I have eaten there twice and both times I got the same feeling that the staff had an ATTITUDE, but what can you expect from a restaurant that has at the bottom of there menu "No Suggestons-Thank you. I will say the food was very good but the place both times I went was very noisy Thanks for the info on Irene's

I love Rio Mar and have never had a problem with attitude, getting a reservation or just walking in. It might be the most consistent restaurant in the city.
