Re: Cold Weather Cooking
I made spaghetti & meatsauce, which is what I was craving.
Red beans & rice with the hambone is another thing I'm craving.
I may make that tonight.
I'm also craving Osso Buco & pasta with garlic bread
and beef veg soup.
And smothered cabbage.

Breakfast consisted of a steamy, creamy hot bowl of grits with andouille and cheddar topped with a very over light fried egg. Great match for this mid 20's morning.
Tonight, thinking about a big ol' pot of shrimp and andouille (yeah, got a bunch of Jacob's andouille that I need to use up) gumbo. May add some oysters too if I get off my butt and go get them.

Re: Cold Weather Cooking
I just made a huge pot of chicken andouille gumbo. Yes, I'll be sharing w/ the family since I'm a "onesie".
I also have meatballs and red gravy on the stove...I had to split the gravy into 2 pots because I had too many meatballs to fit in one.
Do I need to tell you how much of a mess my kitchen is?!?!
.... i HATE chopping parsley.

I chop parsley in the food processor. I add garlic cloves & garlic & pulse it.
It comes out perfect.

Re: Cold Weather Cooking
I'm still in Kentucky at my mom's house. Caleb went back to school yesterday for his last semester of undergrad and I'm heading back to New Orleans on Wednesday. We still have about a foot of snow and it's been bitter cold here in eastern Kentucky. So, today...I made a chicken pot pie and a loaf of bread. I'm officially sick of cold weather and snow...and realize just how much easier heat and humidity are to deal with than ice and snow.
