Hobbes and kcdixiecat,

Neither of you specify what you did not like about Charlie's. Saying that you were not impressed or it was not good at all does not offer much to others on this board.

You're right, I didn't say, sorry. I went with my uncle and my wife, we each got something different, but in the seafood line. We all found the seafood coating much too overpowering with spices, you could not really taste the seafood. I took a bite of one of the shrimp and the whole shrimp came out of the jacket of coating. The potato salad had a bad flavor and tasted like it came out of a plastic tub of something from a supermarket. The colesalw was really bad. It tasted sour with a strong onion and vinegar taste. It was old, the red cabbage had turned the salad pink from sitting in the dressing too long. The waitress poured ice tea in my soft drink glass to give me a refill. The prices were too high and the portions were too small. If all that is because it is a new restaurant then I will go back again in a few months and see if it has changed, but for being one of Frank's restaurants, we were very disapointed.

We tried the Village Inn this evening. We both had the shrimp platter. I have to say that I enjoyed their shrimp more than I did Charles Seafood. The food was good..but, their cocktail sauce is weird. It almost tasted like marinara sauce with a little kick of something..Weird.
