Please excuse me if this is just BS. I am half drunk.
It is perhaps that I don't like to trahs a place, so I keep negative comments to myself. It is very difficult to survive in the restaurant business. I know that. I am not a paid food critic, but certainly have opinions. I am also a very accomplished cook and many of my best meals are at home. So, if I have a nice meal out, I will comment on it. If I think maybe the meal was not so nice, I tend to not comment about that. I also tend not to go back.

So, to summarize, I don't think all restaurants are great. I don't see it as my job to slam places, so I don't.

It is safe to say that just by reading this thread, I am not alone in my surprise that someone had a less than outstanding meal at K-Paul.

I am not half drunk (darn it!).

I'm off to lunch at some great restaurant.

My parents went to K-Paul's last weekend and raved about it. Everything sounded great. Never been there myself but will make it one of these days.

FWIW, I am half drunk. Working on getting there. DFH 60 Minute IPA almost finished and will follow it with another equally excellent beer.

[quote="bam bam"] The whole meal felt tired, like the entire restaurant was going through the motions without any enthusiasm.

Exactly. Still, we considered giving it another try Fri., until my son nixed it. Went to Giovanni's for the $45 4 courses/wine "feed me". Unfortunately, we did not fare any better. A decline in quality as well as portion size.
