Mrs. Fury, I'm sure that O'Donnell's can find a piece of delicious Velveeta somewhere in their kitchen for your traditional chee-boiga. In the meantime, Christine and I will enjoy our scrumptious blue cheese burgers. The first one I ever had was at The Fatted Calf on St. Peter Street across from Pat O's and I've been hooked on them ever since! My latest fave blue cheese burger was at the Beach Corner on Canal Street in New Orleans.

I have been OD'ing on blue cheese crumbles on my tomatoes lately. A world without blue cheese would be sad to live in.............

Amen! Blue cheese and crackers ain't bad neither! And Stilton rules! With many imperial pints of Guinness Stout! I'll deal with the side effects later.

I think that O'Donnell's is a much superior restaurant to Paul's. That is not a knock on Paul's, as they have been successfull in Tangi parish for many years. O'Donnelll's is a serious, ambitious, fine dining restaurant. Paul's is more casual and has no pretention.

Oh Turbo, I definitely did not mean to compare the two. Paul's is good home cooking (for the most part). I know O'Donnell's has cuisine. I'd like to go.

Let us know what you think when you go, Jeeves, Mrs. Fury, and Turbodog. I've introduced several people to it, and they were all very surprised. Like I said, I think it stacks up to almost anything in the city, but many people have never heard of it. Phil O'Donnell won 2nd place in the Louisiana Seafood Cookoff last year. I've also been to Paul's a million times. I love that place for what it is...comfort food plate lunches and everyone seems to know everyone else. My kids love it.

Thanks for reminding us, Live Oak. We'll give O'Donnell's a shot next time we're in the area. If I remember correctly, your parents love O'Ds as well. As for Paul's, as Mrs. Fury says, Paul's Cafe is "good home cookin", plus Paul and his daughters provide such a nice atmosphere. We always enjoy our visits with the Pevey family.

We can probably go Saturday the 8th.
