I've never been to Philips on a Friday night(at least not since I was in college(years ago), but a bunch of my gay friends go there on Friday night. The first time one of them told me they were going there I was very surprised. I couldn't believe one of the Uptown bars would turn into a gay bar at all, but he assured me it did. I know Philips was the site of the L word premier parties for 2 years, so it's probably true.

As it happened, I didn't go to Phillip's that Friday. However, a regular there confirmed that on Friday it is in fact frequented by gay clientele. So, if that's a problem for you it's been noted.

In the delicious irony department, BTG found out the hard way that The Phoenix isn't straights only on Friday night.
