I'm sure it was - a sincere effort to retain your position

Not only is the food incredible, but the service was great too. All this coupled with the warm ambiance of the redesigned interior create a truely memorable experience. I can not wait to go back!!!
I know I'm a cynic. I read this as written by an Ad Man. We need volunteers for corroboration.
As John Wayne once said: "Life's tough. It's even tougher if you're stupid."

I read it the same way, but I read Jodyrah's repeated plugs for Emeril similarly, and yet no one seems to object to them.

The difference is jodyrah was on this board for many months and nearly 200 posts before ever posting a glowing review of Emeril's, a place most people know that she dines frequently, among several others. It's not like Emeril's was getting panned on every food board in town, and she just suddenly showed up to share her wonderful experience there.
"I find the pastrami to be the most sensual of all the salted cured meats. Hungry?"
I agree with Low-N-Slow. People don't just sign up to post twice about the same restaurant with glowing over the top marketing kind of stuff without it being some kind of spam.
I also saw an even more obvious plug for Mike's on another board last week. They even included hours of operation, phone number, etc.
I would have never assumed what jodyrah does as pimping Emerils. Even if so, at least she is pimping a good place.
You are allowed to have favorites. But two posts raving about a place of questionable pedigree defies credulity. We'll see if adoyle2 has anything else to contribute.
FYI-I have not previously been inclined to post a restaurant review because almost all of the places I frequent in the city have been around for 10-15 years. Everyone has seen them reviewed a hundred times. Mike's is a new restaurant trying to establish itself in a struggling economy. I truely enjoyed my experience there and wanted to get the word out. Why my review has been received with such cynicism is shocking. Give the place another try-they have obviously improved.
